Organic Produce

Organic farming represents a new trend in the Japanese agricultural scenario, even though this type of agriculture is still small in Japan. Before the 1950s, the use of fertilisers was extremely rare, making traditional cultivation organic. In the Post-War period, farmers started implementing cultivation method that included fertilisers: starting from this point, the concern for the safety of the food has been on the main drivers of the Japanese food consumption, and the new surge in Organic Farming interest lies in the cleavage between high farming yield and concern for assurance of health for the food.
